PURPOSE OF MEETING: The Nevada Department of Transportation is inviting the public to provide feedback on the draft U.S. 50 Tahoe East Shore Corridor Management Plan. The plan establishes a blueprint for potential future improvements to U.S. 50 on Tahoe’s east shore between the U.S. 50/State Route 28 junction and the Nevada-California state line. STUDY GOALS: The U.S. 50 East Shore Corridor Management Plan is an integrated, multimodal transportation study with the purpose of balancing mobility and safety enhancements with the unique range of other corridor interests through ongoing collaboration among stakeholders. Goals include:
- Improving safety
- Protecting Lake Tahoe
- Enhancing visitor experience
- Expanding multimodal transportation choices
- Promoting economic vitality
- Promoting agency collaboration & management
WHEN AND WHERE: The virtual meeting is available through March 14, 2024, at 5pm, available 24 hours a day via the internet at www.us50eastshore.com. The in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 27 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at George Whittell High School, located at 240 Warrior Way, Zephyr Cove, NV 89413.
WHERE YOU COME IN: Members of the public are encouraged to participate at their convenience any time over the 30-day virtual meeting period and/or attend the in-person meeting. In addition to any comments received at the in-person meeting or via the virtual meeting website, written or emailed comments will be accepted through 5pm on March 14, 2024.
