Crash_03Please Note: For individual crash reports, please contact the local law enforcement agency that responded to the crash. NDOT does not have individual crash reports.

Crash data is now available in a Web Map. This map is interactive and contains crash data for the years 2016-2020. 

A new crash web map is currently under development that will deliver more recent data. In the meantime, if more recent data is needed, please submit a Crash Data Request.

All data will be given in a digital format.  If data is needed in any other format, please contact public records.

The crash data used in the web map and/or disseminated by NDOT is collected by law enforcement.  NDOT maintains a crash database and this crash web map for the purpose of improving traffic and highway safety as required by 23 U.S.C. Section 148 and 23 U.S.C. Section 405, as well as other Federal and State rules and guidelines.  NDOT assumes no responsibility for the accuracy and/or completeness of the data. In the process of recording and compiling the data, some deletions, omissions, or changes of data may occur and NDOT is not responsible for any such occurrences.  All data in this web map and/or disseminated by NDOT is subject to change.

All crash data listings, reports and dashboards are protected under 23 U.S.C. Section 407, which states, “Notwithstanding any other provision of law, reports, surveys, schedules, lists, or data compiled or collected for the purpose of identifying, evaluating, or planning the safety enhancement of potential accident sites, hazardous roadway conditions, or railway-highway crossings, pursuant to sections 130, 144, and 148 of this title or for the purpose of developing any highway safety construction improvement project which may be implemented utilizing Federal-aid highway funds shall not be subject to discovery or admitted into evidence in a Federal or State court proceeding or considered for other purposes in any action for damages arising from any occurrence at a location mentioned or addressed in such reports, surveys, schedules, lists, or data.”

All users shall comply with and be subject to all applicable laws and regulations, whether federal or state, in connection with any receipt and use of NDOT crash data.
