PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) invite you to participate in a public information meeting for the Interstate 80 (I-80) East Widening project. In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), NDOT is preparing a study to evaluate and document the proposed project’s potential impacts. Decisions made as part of this NEPA study will lead to final design and ultimately construction. The project limits are along I-80 from Vista Boulevard to USA Parkway. This public meeting will take place online and in person. This public meeting will inform the traveling public, stakeholders, and residents about the project purpose and need, project goals, alternatives development process, and the recommended build alternative.
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: The proposed project’s purpose is to improve freeway operations, regional mobility, travel time reliability, and safety.
PUBLIC MEETING INFORMATION: The public meeting will be available 24-hours-a-day via the internet at I80EastNV.com from Monday, April 22, 2024 to Friday, May 24, 2024.
IN-PERSON EVENT: The in-person event will be held Wednesday, May 8 at the Storey County Community/Fire Station 1705 Peru Dr. Sparks, NV 89434 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.
LIVESTREAM INFORMATION: The formal project presentation will be livestreamed Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. via the NDOT Facebook page (@NevadaDOT). Livestream participants will be given the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions via Facebook.
