Welcome to Nevada DOT's CAD Section

This website is designed to be a one-stop source for technical resources and information about agency-wide computer aided design (CAD) technologies that enable highway design and drafting at the Nevada DOT. This information is provided for use by the Nevada DOT and is intended for our service providers and/or their subcontractors.

CAD Software Standards

The Nevada DOT documents standard CAD software and version numbers to aid in the transfer of engineering data, and to assist in providing uniformity in CAD procedures. Service provider suppliers of CAD information are required to provide graphics files in a MicroStation DGN format compatible with Nevada DOT CAD software standard versions shown below and the Nevada DOT CAD Workspace.

Plan Preparation and Title Sheet Standards

Contract plans should be prepared according to the current NDOT Plan Preparation Guide and new Title Sheet Standards. The current NDOT Plan Preparation Guide and new Title Sheet Standards can be found on the Standard Specifications, Standard Plans, and Design Guides page.

Plan Review

Nevada DOT now conducts all plan and specification reviews electronically using Bluebeam Revu software. The current version in use can be found in the CAD Software Standards above. Reviews are hosted as Bluebeam Studio Sessions and the Department uses a set of custom tools that must be loaded to participate in the reviews. The current Nevada DOT custom toolset and review procedures can be found below:
