Home MenuOperations & Network Analysis
The Operations and Network Analysis section’s mission is to optimize traffic flow on Nevada’s highway system by performing unbiased analyses and reviews that balance both safety and operations.
Our goal is to continually promote peak roadway value by transparently and openly analyzing the short-term, and long-term effects of proposed projects. We continually coordinate with NDOT Divisions and Districts, and local agencies to ensure effectivity, efficiency, and smooth execution.
We use capacity analysis, intersection analysis, congestion identification, and traffic flow theory to deliver the safest and most effective system for users of Nevada’s roadways. Our duties include operational analysis, geometric recommendations, access management stewardship, FHWA coordination, intersection control recommendations, speed limit oversight, and support to district staff. We assist district Staff with traffic impact study review, speed policy, access management, signal justification, and intersection modification. Our technical skills help us to optimize mobility and safety on Nevada’s roadways for the short-term, and the long-term benefit.
