In compliance with Title 23 of the Federal-Aid Highway Act and the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS 408.203), the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) produces the Transportation System Projects (TSP) document. This is done in cooperation with federal, state, and local governments, Regional Transportation Commissions (RTC) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO) (for urbanized areas with a population greater than 50,000) so funding can be made available for needed transportation improvements in Nevada. The TSP contains the following sections.

• Annual Work Program (AWP)
• Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)
