Previous Activities

The study team wrapped up the existing conditions analysis component of the project. This work included reviewing five-year crash data and land use. In addition, the study team has reviewed existing roadway configuration and multimodal opportunities within the corridor. Adjacent on-going projects were also reviewed along with the team becoming involved in coordination meetings for the Central Federal Land’s FLAP shared use path projects along SR 159. Study activities reviewed existing traffic volumes with existing intersection counts having been recently taken in March 2022. The work included developing 2050 traffic forecasts and evaluating both existing and future traffic operations along both corridors.

Using the information developed from as part of the existing conditions analysis, existing and future traffic analysis, and comments received from the public, the study team is identified potential solutions and preliminary recommendations for the SR 160 and SR 159 corridors. These recommendations were presented to the public at the second round of public information meetings in September 2022.

The first public meetings were held in April 2022 on the 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th at four locations throughout the corridor to maximize citizen participation and feedback. The second round of public meetings were held September 19, 20, 21, and 22. 2022 at four locations throughout the corridor.
